Amy, always good to see your email in the inbox. Thx for the LOTR ambient music rec - I'll add it to my listen list along with the ever-popular LOFI Girl vids. My latest go to reading (and listening) has been "The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy" by Megan Bannen. I've had it in the Kindle for quite some time but finally got around to it last week and adored it. The audio version (courtesy of my library) is excellent. I'm glad the next book in the series drops on 7/2 - I scrambled to order it ASAP. Hope your summer continues to offer you delights and surprises...Phyllis
Great to hear what you've been up to. I'm very late to this as its been such a busy month! My first Insider article came out! Just saw it for the first time today!!!!!!!!!! I also wrote and submitted a comic short story to an anthology, starred as an extra in a blockbuster, worked with a friend as a plumber, visited Oxford and volunteered at a Roman villa near there (such a rewarding experience to find I can actually talk to the public and educate them about a site and my history passion). And, I've been emailing back and forth with an established author to hone my query letter. Just did an editing pass on the first 50 pages of that novel too. I added 4000 words! But I think it really helped to add more interriority to really explicitly say things like you mentioned. I may have also waved away a few things when I started that novel 3 years ago. Reading wise, I worked through some new comps for my novel. Project Hail Mary was fantastic. And I'm really loving the magic system mythology of Sebastien de Castell's The Malevolent Seven. Its kind of like seven samurai but with war mages
I just finished the Daevabad Trilogy last night! And immediately requested the River of Silver short stories to be able to stay a little longer in that world. Always appreciate your recommendations and seeing what we are reading overlapping. Love ambient videos as well. I have been stuck in a ACOTAR loop so maybe could switch it up to Lord of the Rings for a while. ... Lauren L.
Amy, I just loved reading this, thanks so much. I feel really overwhelmed at the moment (just a lot happening all over the place), but your newsletter is delightful and peaceful.
I might try that Lord of the Rings ambient video, it's winter here in Australia, so that looks nice to listen to. I have a new Stephen King book from the library, which might be good to read along.

Ooh I'm looking up LOFI Girl now.
This book has the most gorgeous cover and the synopsis sounds very me. I'm going to put it on hold at the library. Thanks for the rec!

Okay I just finished the last book an hour ago and I LOVE. LOVE. Let me know what you think of the short stories. :D
Also, why has it never occurred to me to look up ACOTAR ambient videos? There have to be some lovely Velaris ones.

All the best to you.
Overwhelmed is a whole vibe, isn't it? I'm sending you warm thoughts and quiet moments. <3
