Hi Amy-big fan of your books and newsletter and I REALLY needed to be reminded of that Qui Gon quote this month-I too have been consumed by the negative and need to refocus. Thanks for the reminder.

That Qui-Gon Jinn quote really slaps. How did I miss that line? I remember that scene but I don't remember that line. And yes it has been some time since I last saw Episode 1. I think I need to rewatch it because he is my favorite Jedi. That kind of mindset would also explain how I got to where I am today and why Qui-Gon Jinn has been so important to me (especially when I was in my late teens and early 20s).

The wildest part of Mission: Impossible 2 is that it made total sense to be the film it was when it was released. It’s the kind of film that could only have been released in the year 2000, not before and not after. Watching it now, it’s full of cringe, but it was the most amazing movie that year. I tend to skip it in rewatches now because it really sticks out when compared to the rest of them. They only get better from III onward.

It is a very 2000s movie, that's for sure.

I've now made it to 5 and holy schnikes, they become wildly wonderful action movies.

Hi Amy. Cavan's post struck with me too. As did your tip about timelines! I certainly ran into that problem when I wanted to re-release my self publishing works in chronological omnibus volumes, so I learnt that lesson the hard way. I'm doing good. Got some writing wheels in motion. Something exciting I've got coming up is a trip inside the British Museum's study rooms to look at some Egyptian artefacts I'm basing a story on!
